Orlando Dugi’s debut men’s collection takes inspiration from part of the creation story told to young children in Dińe culture. In this epic, Sun is the father of twin boys determined to protect their people from danger. Sun presents his sons with gifts in the form of zigzag lightning and garments, armor and weapons made of flint and sunlight. The collection is elegant and moody, utilizing deep colors, gold details, rich textures, and Dugi’s signature elaborate hand and beadwork. Throughout the collection are moments of Cochineal red, an insect-derived dye used by Diné weavers starting in the 18th century and continuing to this day.
